Label: Hot Wax 7008 dj Year: 1969 Condition: M- Price: $25.00 The B side of this promo is another great forgotten Motown-style dance number... You'll fall in love instantly! It was later released as an A side. This is the first pressing, on the multicolored Hot Wax label. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Hot Wax Records factory sleeve. The labels are Near Mint; the A label has a tiny promo "star" stamped on it. Although the vinyl grades below Near Mint, reflecting some light scuffing, the audio is terrific, nearly pristine.

Label: GSF 6908 Year: 1973 Condition: M Price: $9.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original GSF Records factory sleeve... pristine Mint! This is a seriously great soul single, folks. So great, in fact, that I was moved to put both sides in the jukebox... I just couldn't decide which I liked better. The A side is a terrific, rare Ashford-Simpson tune with a kind of funky side to it, and the flip is pure Northern Soul, Memphis style. A real treasure. This was Dorothy Moore's very first chart single as a solo artist.

Label: Lizard 1008 Year: 1971 Condition: M- Price: $12.00 No, it's not in Kev Roberts' list of the top Northern Soul singles, and it doesn't fetch hundreds of dollars from desperate collectors... but man, this is a geat single! The A side is Porter's first hit, and the flip is another uptempo track. Both display the quirky creativity that characterize the singer's other prized singles. The artist is listed on this 45 as simply 'Nolan.' Note: This copy has an "x" on the A label (see scan). The vinyl and audio grade Near Mint.

Label: Kwanza 7678 Year: 1973 Condition: M- Price: $20.00 Two terrific Soul numbers. The A side charted, but the B side is something special... take a listen to our mp3 snippet! Note: This beautiful 45 has Mint labels. The B side audio is also pristine Mint.

Label: Capitol 4048 Year: 1958 Condition: M Price: $20.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy, in its original factory sleeve.

Label: Stax 212 Year: 1967 Condition: M- Price: $20.00 Here's a beautiful copy of this must-have Deep Soul ballad. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Atlantic-Atco Records factory sleeve. Label: Bang 516 Year: 1966 Condition: M Price: $10.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy with a drillhole. This terrific single shows how close Bubblegum sometimes came to appropriating the Northern Soul sound.

Label: B.T. Puppy 518 Year: 1966 Condition: M- Price: $10.00 In addition to the 2-star A side, the B side is a delightful cover of the Kornfeld-Duboff song that Billy and the Essentials recorded the same year. Note: This copy has a black slash through the "dog" logo on the B side label; the labels are otherwise mint.

Label: Collectables 3620 Year: 1951 Condition: M Price: $6.00 Originally released on King 4501. This is one of the terrific 'dirty' rock 'n' roll records from the early 1950's... it's a perfect example of the blatant sexuality that many white folks were afraid of when their little teenagers started listening to black rock'n'roll. :-) Like most white guys, the first time I heard the song was through Maria Muldaur in the early 1970s, but you ain't ever heard the song til you heard the Swallows original! This is a new copy of the out-of-print Collectables reissue.

Label: Columbia 11388 dj Year: 1980 Condition: M Price: $12.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed promo copy, in its original factory sleeve. This is one of two great, hard-to-find singles released from the Rockpile album Seconds of Pleasure. Rockpile was a band formed by Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds. Of the two singles, this was the first, and also the only one that charted. This promo has the same Stereo version on both sides. Despite a couple of marks on one side, the grooves retain pristine Mint audio.

Label: Columbia 60503 dj Year: 1980 Condition: M Price: $12.00 This is one of two great, hard-to-find singles released from the Rockpile album Seconds of Pleasure. Rockpile was a band formed by Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds. Despite a couple of small, light scuff marks, the grooves retain pristine Mint audio.

Label: WB 49524 dj Year: 1980 Condition: M Price: $15.00 Stereo/Mono promo copy. This early single was released from the same album and just before their breakthrough hit, 'Whip It.' Though it didn't get much radio play at the time, it's definitely one of their 'greatest hits.' Note: This beautiful promo 45 record has no notable flaws, grading Mint across the board (Labels, Vinyl, Audio).

Label: Vigor 1730 dj Year: 1976 Condition: M- Price: $12.00 Stereo/Mono promo copy. Talk about a sleeper! This under-appreciated 1976 gem was the only chart appearance (squeaking in at #95 on the Billboard Black/RnB Singles chart) for Ms. Black, who had an equally excellent followup single that likewise went nowhere in airplay and sales. I fell in love instantly and quickly put a snippet in the Classic 45s jukebox... Have a listen! Note: With pristine Mint labels, this beautiful copy's vinyl and audio aren't far from pristine. Label: Sound Stage 7 2602 Year: 1968 Condition: M Price: $15.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. Take a listen to this neglected classic, and tell me it doesn't make you wanna hear more of Mr. Simon's terrific 45's. What a great dancer!

Label: Total Exp. 8203 Year: 1982 Condition: M- Price: $10.00 Though they contributed mightily to the sound that made 1970s-80s funk so great, if I had to pick one to include in a list of the 1001 greatest singles ever made, it might very well be this one. For me, it would be hard to choose between this and "Early in the Morning," but we know how Dave Marsh voted. :-) By the way, this single has an edited version of the 5:10 album cut. Note: This copy has light storage wear, lowering the Label & Vinyl grade to Near Mint. The Audio is pristine Mint.

Label: Decca 32896 dj Year: 1971 Condition: M Price: $14.00 Here's a beautiful promo copy of this amazing single by Who bassist John Entwistle. If you haven't heard the amazing hard-rocker on the A side, you're definitely missing out on one of the best rarities in classic rock! Have a listen to the mp3 snippet in our jukebox to hear what I'm talking about. The flip is a more typical Who-sounding outing. Note: This copy comes in a vintage Decca Records factory sleeve. Label: WB 29746 Year: 1983 Condition: M- Price: $10.00 This is a terrific edited cut from the 5:03 LP version, and it's this tune that ranks the highest of all the Prince singles in Dave Marsh's Top 1,001 Singles list. And as if the A side weren't reason enough to own this classic single, the B side is one of those super-special, non-LP cut offerings Prince managed to throw around for free on his 1980's singles. Label: WB 19464 Year: 1991 Condition: M Price: $6.00 From a warehouse find, this is a new, unplayed stock copy. This single has two of the best cuts from Simon's LP The Rhythm of the Saints, the followup to his hugely successful album Graceland. Note: "Proof" is a special 45-only remix of the album cut.

Label: Brunswick 55326 Year: 1967 Condition: M- Price: $30.00 You can't do wrong with either side of this terrific single, which somehow escaped notice at Pop and Black/RnB radio when released in 1967, but I took a quick fondness to the B side ("Love Song"), which as I suspected is not available from the iTunes store or other online services. Have a listen to the mp3 snippet, and I hope it grabs you like it did me! (Never neglect to listen to a single's B side. Even though it's called a "single," nearly all of them (except for many promos) have at least 2 songs on them. Very often, the B side proves the test of time better than the A side, or it turns out to be deserving of as much attention as the A side at the least.) Note: This copy comes in a vintage Brunswick Records factory sleeve. The Mintish labels have a small "K" inked on them. The audio sounds pristine Mint.
